Ms. Lisa E. Rosenthal, Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Lisa Rosenthal is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Mayvin, a dynamic women-owned small business. In less than 4 years, her team doubled the firm’s revenues annually making the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing firms 3 years in a row.
She is a seasoned leader and business developer with significant government and commercial experience managing a broad spectrum of tasks, functions, processes, and systems from concept to implementation. Ms. Rosenthal is recognized for strong leadership skills, facilitating organizational change, well as developing strategies for significant business decisions. She is a proven leader that achieves high levels of productivity and efficiency in very diverse and fluid environments.
Lisa proudly served on the American University (AU) Alumni Board of Directors and the American Health Education Center Network Board of Directors. She further supports the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association Small Business and Education Subcommittee, the National Board of Directors for Women in Defense HORIZONS Scholarship, STEM, and Academia Director, the AU Entrepreneurship Council, and sits on the Quality Systems Management, Inc. Advisory Board. She also proudly serves as a judge for the Kogod Case Competition and the George Washington Business Plan Competition.
She has a Master’s of Business Administration, International Finance as well as Management of Global Information Technology from The American University. She also has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Environmental Policy from The American University.
Mr. Victor Pirowski, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Victor Pirowski has been the Chief Financial Officer of Mayvin since the company's incorporation in 2008. Victor has a proven record of developing and implementing financial and operational controls for Mayvin and its clients. His skills are directly applicable to a wide range of administrative, technical, and analytical functions in the formulation, presentation, defense, and execution of Department of Defense program budgets. He has significant experience in planning, organizing, and executing annual and multi-year budgeting projects.
Victor's knowledge of Contract Administration, Regulatory Compliance, and Government Business Systems allows Mayvin to interact smoothly and efficiently with clients. Under his guidance, Mayvin has earned DCAA Accounting System acceptability and developed an infrastructure that is capable of servicing Mayvin's clients, and scalable to meet surge requirements. Victor holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Finance from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from George Mason University in May 2015.
Mr. Pat Mcgovern, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Pat Mcgovern is the Chief Operating Officer for Mayvin. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance, optimize, and streamline Mayvin’s global operations and partner solutions services. His skill sets include knowledge of Special and Contingency Operations, international manufacturing, as well as program management within Commercial and Government sectors. Before he joined Mayvin, Pat held a variety of management roles with GE Hitachi Nuclear and Tempur Sealy International, and most recently managed Aviation and Maritime efforts for Lockheed Martin. Prior, Pat served in the Army for 22 years in assignments ranging from the Recruiting Command to supporting Special Operations units. In addition to Pat’s extensive experience, he holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as well as a Masters of Business Administration. In his free time, Pat is an adrenaline junkie who can be found participating in competitive road races and piloting private aircrafts. Most of all, he enjoys spending his free time with his family.
Mr. Derrick Williams, Vice President - Growth
As Vice President of Growth for Mayvin, Mr. Derrick Williams is responsible for driving strategic partnerships and transactions to accelerate Mayvin’s growth. He is focused on identifying and realizing opportunities to expand Mayvin’s presence across the Federal and Defense contracting space. He brings over a decade of industry experience managing all aspects of business development, including market engagement, capture management, proposal development, marketing, and acquisitions. Before joining Mayvin, he worked for both large and small companies, including an international firm doing business with governments worldwide, governmental and non-governmental international aid organizations, and commercial enterprises.
Prior to industry, Derrick spent 20 years in the United States Army and served in the Armored Cavalry and other units from platoon-level up to, and including, Headquarters Department of the Army and Joint staffs. In the Army, he supported Special Mission Units and served as a Strategist for higher level staffs. Derrick graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Weber State University and has a Master of Science Degree in Business from Central Michigan University. Additionally, he works with Challenge America, whose mission is to connect service members, veterans, and their families to the resources they need to live the lives they earned and deserve. Derrick lives in Vienna, VA with his wife, daughter, and dog. Derrick — "I almost bowled a perfect game once... but I ruined it in the second frame."
Mr. Rick Channell, Director of Talent Acquisition
Mr. Rick Channell is the Director of Talent Acquisition for Mayvin. In this role, he has the ultimate responsibility of leading Mayvin’ s strategy for talent acquisition, retaining top talent and internal leadership development of Talent within Mayvin. Rick comes to Mayvin after spending 5 years at GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy where he was the Large Motor and Mechanical Sourcing Leader. Prior to that, he spent 28 years in the U.S. Army with assignments ranging from the 82nd Airborne Division, 173rd Airborne Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, and a Special Mission Unit within the Special Operations Command. He has a Master’s Degree from Duquesne University and holds a 3rd degree with the Knights of Columbus. Rick enjoys time off with his kids and can be found every Sunday afternoon at the Wilmington Ice House playing ice hockey.
Mr. Benson "Curt" Wood, Director of Operations
Mr. Benson “Curt” Wood is Mayvin’s Director of Operations. In this role, he is responsible for daily oversight and maintenance of contracts, working to ensure both employees and clients are getting the necessary care and feeding. Curt refined his operations and program management skills during his 20 years of military experience supporting Special Operations Forces. Before joining Mayvin, Curt worked in program management, operations, infrastructure development, logistics, and training services for over 8 years. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Military Science from Troy University, and earned a Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Government Contracting and Acquisition from the American Military University. In the spare moments that Curt isn’t trying to figure out what the FAR says, he likes to make New Year’s resolutions that include going to the gym and traveling. Curt lives in Fayetteville, NC, where he practiced social distancing before it was mainstream.
Mr. Charles “Skip” Zinsmeister, Director of Operations
Mr. Charles “Skip” Zinsmeister is Mayvin’s Director of Operations. In this role, he is responsible for daily oversight and maintenance of contracts, working to ensure their growth and profit. Skip began his time at Mayvin as a contract site lead in the development of training for the USCG. Before joining Mayvin, he held roles in training development, instructional design and project management with companies large and small. Some of the work he accomplished included developing radiological training for the Federal Government and Instructional Systems Design (ISD) for Lockheed Martin and Leidos. Before he retired in 1999, Skip spent over 20 years in the US Navy and US Coast Guard. Skip graduated from College of the Albemarle with a degree in Business. Skip is undoubtedly Mayvin’s most active employee. Skip runs sprint triathlons “for fun,” and if it involves the water and a board, you will find him there. He is also the proud owner of no less than 7 guitars, his favorite of which is his Takamine E523SC. Skip lives in Elizabeth City, NC with his wife Robin, daughter Abigail and dog Trixie.
Mrs. Nikki Cottingham, Director of Human Capital Management
As the Director of Human Capital Management, Mrs. Nikki Cottingham is responsible for Human Resources administration oversight, employee relations, regulatory compliance, hiring new employees, training and development, benefits administration and compensation. Nikki has been with Mayvin since 2013 and has over fifteen years of full lifecycle human resources experience supporting DOD functions. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Hospitality from The University Maryland Eastern Shore and earned a Master’s in Human Resource Management from The University of Maryland University College. Nikki was honored by The Washington Business Journal for her outstanding work in human resources in the Greater Washington area. In her spare time, Nikki volunteers with the her with children’s Parent Teacher Organization, as well as mentoring with local football and cheer youth league. She also enjoys crafting and spending time with her family.
